Outside the Line Illusions

Logo Design

Overview

A local Wisconsin artist specializing in abstract and mixed media artwork was looking to develop a brand to help promote higher-end sales of her work. We developed a name and direction for a logo design that could be applied to stickers, bags, and other packaging. A business card and “certificate of authenticity” were also developed to include with each piece sold.

History

The artist took a considerable amount of time trying to decide on a name for her company, with little luck. She wanted something personal that connected with her art but did not want to use her own name. We talked for a while about her work and how she created it. The passion was obvious. Eventually, a story came up about when the artist was younger and a teacher told her that she should try painting “outside the lines”. Something minor at the time, but it stuck with her. She continued to explain what it meant and how it framed her approach to the art she created. This stood out, and eventually became the key part of the name. “OtL”
